BEST BLENDERS

TOP 2 Kitchen Blenders

A blender is one of the most important appliances in a kitchen. Whether to prepare a cake, an elaborate recipe, or even to make a fruit juice, the blender is a key element in the preparation.

When looking for a blender, it is worth taking into account your habits in order to choose the most suitable product for you. It's hard to find all the strengths in one product.

Large jar blenders are rarely doing well on performance. Although blenders are noisy products, there is a big difference between them. A difference of two dbA is already clearly noticeable.

Removable bases are much more practical for thorough cleaning of the blades. Tritan jars are resistant to any kind of drops, but they are plastic, scratch the same. Higher speed variations provide more versatility to make food more liquid or with more chunks. It is worth entering into the evaluation of the product you are interested in to better understand if the model will suit you.

1St Blender

No wonder this blender earns the title of Osterizer "Classic". Its design is faithful to the original 1946 Osterizer model! It really is an elegant classic design, all chrome. You can find it in stores in red, blue, copper, silver, black and brushed steel.

The base part of the product and its support for the cup are made of plastic, but they are also chromed in the same color as the body, giving it a robust and charming appearance. The jar is made of glass and the connection between the shaft and the bowl is made of metal (All-Metal Drive). These details are characteristic of all Oster models.

The feet are also robust and follow the lines of the body. The electrical cord comes out from under the base and is often under one foot. There is a spot on the base of the Osterizer that makes it possible to shorten the cable. It's not practical to use, but it helps to prevent the cord from getting close to the base feet. The power cord is over 1.10 meters long, making it one of the longest we've tested.

Practicality

The jug is very practical to put on and take off the body, just lift it and it is already uncoupled from the motor. It's a nice jar, square in the mouth, but it's pretty small. Its maximum capacity is 1.25 liters up to the lid. There is considerable error in your indication, and it is confusing to understand your markings. It is not useful for measurements in liters.

The lid is made of rubber and has a dispenser in the center. It is very practical to open the lid and also use the dispenser. On the other hand, the lid seal is not the best and as the product volume is small, it is necessary to hold the product lid during operation due to liquids reaching the top of the lid.

The dial is small and kind of hard to rotate. The position of the selector is not very aligned with the speed marking. This gets in the way even more because this model turns off on both extreme sides of the selector. When set all the way to the left, it is turned off, just as rotating the selector all the way to the right turns the product off. Hear situations that we thought was running at full speed, but it was only in mid position. Also there is no option to pulsate. If you want to start the engine, it is necessary to rotate the selector.

2nd Blender

Electrolux managed to innovate again with its curved blender. Masterblender Explore 6 has a 5-degree pitch in the jar with the promise of improving food blending within the jar. The proposal is interesting, as I know some people who shake the blender to try to move food better.

This blender can be found in four different colors. Basically it's a dark red (wine), a black, a white to beige and an army green. Electrolux calls these colors: granite black, ceramic white, dark red and forest green. Apparently, they really like English, because from the name to the color is in English.

The product is much more interesting when viewed physically than in photos. There are many products that look great in photos, but up close they even look like a cheap replica of the photo. Here the impression is the opposite. The entire set is curved, even in the selector area. None of this is very evident in the photos. The plastic used in the body is rigid and glossy, conveying quality when viewing and handling the piece. There are no marks of retouches, mismatches or poor impressions. There is a slight sign of plastic mold encounter, but it is barely noticeable.

Performance

The Masterblender Explore 6 has 5 speeds and is declared with 700W of power. The 5 speeds are quite distinct, with a good variation from minimum to maximum speed (close to 30%).

Several tests were made with this Electrolux, beating juices, vitamins, pasta, grains and ice.

In the tests of juice with peel, Masterblender delivered below average results. The tests involve an analysis of the homogeneity of cut, weight and size of the pieces remaining at a specific operating time. The product was able to deliver homogeneous cuts, which shows that it had a good movement, but the pieces that were left were large and a large quantity.

This effect was also evidenced in the tests with grains, which shows a low efficiency per rotation. The advantage is that by having a movement increasing the running time improves the result, and because the base of the blades is of good quality, it is possible to leave the set on without worrying about the shaft being easily damaged.

When beating dough with pieces of food, the blender managed to cut everything, but in these cases the dough was blended for more than 4 minutes.

The blades have a good thickness and are robust for hitting ice. Two hundred grams of ice came out completely chopped into 4 pulses.
